Lots of us fear the day our child is given their first phone. Some of us are already living it. The screen rules in my own house are strict, weekends only, set hours, and I can still see how strong the pull is. Limits help, but limits are not the answer on their own. What I really want is a child who understands why the limits exist, and who makes better decisions when I am not there to control it.
The Insiders Club is my answer. An insider is someone who knows how a thing works from the inside, and that is what the children become here. It is all games and team challenges, so as far as they are concerned they are just playing. Here is what your child will come home knowing.
WHAT AI IS
What AI actually is, how it learns, and where it already sits in your child's day.
JUDGING AI
That AI is not a person and not a friend, however much it sounds like one. They learn to question what it says rather than take it at face value.
BUILD YOUR OWN
They make simple AIs of their own, so they understand what is happening under the bonnet.
INSIDE SOCIAL MEDIA
How social media decides what your child sees next, and why it is so hard to stop scrolling.
SAFE ONLINE
What to look out for, what never to share, and what to do when something does not feel right.
SCREEN TIME
What all those hours do to a growing brain, and how to be the child who can put the screen down.
- The Spotter
- The Trainer
- The Fact Checker
- The Flattery Breaker
- The Decider
- The Creator
- The Judge
What the research says
The question is not whether AI reaches your child. It already has, or it will shortly, through a friend's phone if not your own. The question is whether anyone teaches them to judge it first.
The programme teaches to the OECD AI literacy framework behind the PISA 2029 assessment, and is consistent with DfE guidance on generative AI in education.
Where your child becomes the insider.

HOW A SESSION FEELS
Teams, points on the board, and an hour that goes very quickly. Ask your child about it afterwards and you will hear about the game they nearly won, not a lesson.

WHAT THEY BRING HOME
A way of talking about AI that will genuinely surprise you at dinner, and a record of everything they have made and tested over the term.

A WORD ON WHO IS TEACHING
I run an AI company and teach adults, including finance and business professionals, how these systems really work. I am also a mother of 2, which is why the rules below existed before the first session did. Of everything I have built, this club is the most personal.

ABOUT THE PLATFORMS, NEVER ON THEM
No accounts, no feeds, no social media in the room. Nothing runs on a child's device, and no child's name, face or voice ever goes into any tool. These rules do not bend.

7 BADGES TO EARN
The Spotter, the Trainer, the Fact Checker, the Flattery Breaker, the Decider, the Creator and the Judge. The badges stay the same all year. Earning them gets harder every term.

SEE WHAT THEY HAVE MADE
Every term ends with an evening where families come in and your child shows you what they have built.

What parents say
Young Founders House has been a great experience for Georgie. It introduced her to completely new concepts, and she loved learning how money works and how to turn investments into profits. A wonderful, unexpected bonus was seeing her teamwork and friendships grow. Georgie took part in two markets this term and made over £100 after costs, she was thrilled to see her hard work pay off.
We loved seeing how happy all the children were in your class and how confidently they spoke, laughed, and interacted together. It was such a wonderful experience for my daughter and for us as parents.
I highly recommend Young Founders Club. It's a fantastic opportunity for children to learn about business, develop creative ideas and gain practical skills! The program helps build confidence and turn ideas into reality.
My daughter was very nervous about speaking in front of others, even in a small group. Since joining the club, I've noticed such a lovely change in her. She is speaking more clearly, joining in more, and she seems much more comfortable sharing her ideas. It has been really nice to see her confidence grow in a gentle, natural way.
A really lovely club that helps children build confidence, speak more clearly and believe in themselves a bit more each week.
I love how practical the Young Founders House club is. The children were not just sitting and being told about money or business. They were thinking, planning, making decisions and learning by doing. My child really enjoyed it, and I could see how proud she was of what she had created.
The children's market was brilliant. It gave the children a real chance to sell, speak to people, manage money and feel proud of themselves.
Questions parents ask
Is this Configur AI Junior?
Configur AI Junior is becoming The Insiders Club from September. Same Thursday, same 5:30pm hour, bigger job. AI leads, and the screens and social media your child already lives with come with it, all of it turned into a game they will not notice they are learning from.
Will my child be using ChatGPT?
No. Children never open an account, log into anything or type into a chatbot. Anything conversational runs on my screen only, at the front, where the whole class can question it. Ages 8 to 12.
So what do they actually do?
They learn what AI is and how to judge it, build small AIs of their own, open up what social media's algorithm does underneath, learn what to look for to stay safe online, and see what screen time does to a growing brain. All of it through games and team challenges, mostly cards, paper and noise.
Is it an hour of screen time?
Mostly the opposite. Most of the hour is cards, paper, games and argument. Screens appear briefly, for a purpose, then go away.
What about my child's data?
Nothing of your child, not their name, face, voice, photograph or words, ever enters any AI system, typed by anyone. When they train machines, they train them on drawings and objects, never on themselves.
When does it run?
Thursdays, 5:30 to 6:30pm in term time at Patch, 42 York Street, Twickenham. Many children stay on after Young Founders House, which runs just before.
What does my child come away with?
A personal record of everything they have made and tested over the term, and a way of talking about AI that will genuinely surprise you at dinner. They earn their progress step by step, and the term ends with an evening where families come in and see what they have built.
What ages is it for?
The Insiders Club is for children aged 8 to 12.
What does it cost?
Membership is £65 a month for 1 club, with reduced rates across 2, 3 or all 4 clubs. Everything is included.
How do I sign up?
Pick the clubs your child wants, choose the day for each one, and set up the monthly membership from the join page. That part takes about 2 minutes. You are then taken to a short consent form, and your child's place is confirmed once you have completed it. If a day is full, the page will say so, and you can register your interest for that day instead.
